Charlotte and I have been in Florida for almost 2 yrs now. (Lots of bike riding instead of skiing.)
I am in charge of BD for an optics conpany. We design and manfacture visible and infrared optics for medical, industrial, scientific, illumination, Lidar and defense applications. Anywhere a laser needs to be collimated, light needs to be bent, or an IR detector needs to be fed photons, is an opportunity for us.
Think of the endoscope used during shoulder surgery, the new laser headlights, thermal night vision or Lidar system on your car, laser level on your powertools or antimatter detecting research lasers on the international space station.
I am also helping a startup group of German, Canadian and Italian virtuosos bring online classical music training to China and the rest if the world as a side project.
Our eldest son just completed his University studies and will soon be returning to Europe; hopefully in search of a job. My daughter is taking a gap year from University and is working as a pedagogue w troubled children in Denmark. I celebrated her 21st Birthday in Copenhagen with her and my in laws. Our youngest is completing his final semester at boarding school. He grew about 8 inches over the last 18 months and is now 6’2″. Unfortunately the growth spurt led to a wierd hip fracture which ended his field goal kicking career.
Charlotte just earned her real estate license after a couple of months of study!
My mother in law, Inger Brask, 82.5 years old took her last breath on New Year’s day. Charlotte heads over for the funeral next week.
Where do you plan to be this year?
I will be in Vegas and San Francisco during January/Feb.
Then in the UK, Latvia, Belarus, Lithuania, Germany, Israel, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Thailand and China during the 1st half of the year.(fewer trips if I can manage it)
I also have to go to Goleta and Irvine sometime.
