PS – pretty lucky to come away with only a dislocated finger after 3 complete somersaults on my mountain bike while carrying Mango – and that’s a long story – who came away unscratched; not to mention, the great staff at medical emergency who see all the craziest injuries on the weekends after a night most spend boozing had never seen such little trauma considering I wasn’t wearing a helmet – another long story – as the dirt, grass and shrubs were still sticking to me
showing this was nothing like falling off a ladder when painting an interior; and the front of my t-shirt was all that the dirt, rocks, grass and shrubs hadn’t impacted; to mention little of the finger now pointed 45 degrees off center only happening on the final forward somersault; and the only other injuries were a few minor scratches here and there, top of my nose, a little scratch on my right shin and both elbows only slightly grazed, and best of all not a single bruise; all the egoscue strength-stretch exercises I do first thing in the morning, no doubt playing a big role in the positive outcome.
Marie took the above photo upon the return from ER, and the bandages holding the finger splint in place on my left hand, I had removed because there was work to be done and my finger almost as good as new.
