Yes, Moshal Gevisser was the family firm. My grandfather, Morris Gevisser and his brother-in-law, Sol Moshal, along with Issy, Morris’ brother, were the founders. Bernie and my dad, Leslie, were first cousins and worked there almost all their working lives until it was sold under the table to Natie Kirsch who did the first asset strip in SA, dismantling in a few months what had taken generations to build..
Both Bernie and my dad fought in WW2. Bernie was a pilot who flew Spitfires. Wonderful man. I went to school with his kids.
Bernie lives in Melbourne now, near his daughter Kathy.
