I trust all is well. Nice to get a message from you.

Our son just got back to the USA today after a 4-month deployment, as a US Navy Seabee.

He was involved in the disastrous pier exercise in Gaza. Hamas stole all the food and medical supplies.

When a storm broke the pier apart, Alexander had his hands full. They pulled a number of sailors from the water; and their small craft ended up ashore in Ashdod. Thank God they ended up in Israel. If they had landed in Gaza they would have had to fight Hamas.

He spent almost 2 weeks in Israel. Our work colleagues (RP optical Lab) from Petah Tikva helped his unit get to an Israeli base and then to a CIA base.

The Israelis were constantly insulting the sailors for feeding terrorists, but in good nature. They know we are on the same side..

Eventually he made it back to his ship and got to see 500lb bombs dropped on Gaza (The concussion gave him headaches) and the Iron Dome intercept a number of missiles. The Houthis even hit one of the Navy’s cargo ships with a missile. Fortunately, his ship didn’t get hit.

I am pretty proud that out company designs, develops and sells a number of infrared cameras which are incorporated into the Iron Dome. We also provide IR technology for satellites, other space applications, counter-drone, counter-missile, heat seeking missiles, border patrol, commercial, deep science, and medical applications. The counter-drone is in demand right now; particularly in Ukraine and Israel; but demand is coming from everywhere.

Charlotte works with me as Office Manager, Finance and ITAR compliance.(international arms control regulations). Our company, called RP Optical USA, is backed by RP Optical Lab. I have been managing the firm since 12/22. It normally takes about 18 months to get new projects off the ground, but we had the good fortune to experience a Hannukah miracle in December 23, and we achieved sales lift-off. We have an opt-mechanical engineer working for us and I am about to hire an outside salesman, an inside salesman and another engineer.

Victoria is engaged and will get married next year to a nice guy. She works as a pharma data scientist(changed from lab scientist) and Arthur is in his last semester business. He has worked for us the last two summers, so he is learning about infrared imaging and bookkeeping.

When at home, we are in the garden. Growing avocadoes, passion fruit, guavas, grapes, peppers, onions, beans, pineapple (our 1^st is on the bush), oregano, basil, blackberries, yucca, sweet potatoes, hibiscus, mulberries, melons(Water, cantaloupes & honeydew) and more. Our kids call it the Standard Doomsday Garden. I think it just makes me a Gentleman Farmer.

Finally, still traveling for work & pleasure: Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, France, Belarus, Israel, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and China. Domestically I go to SF, Irvine, Goleta, Texas, DC, New Hampshire, Boston, Chicago, Alabama and PA.

Do you live in the same house? How are your kids doing? Both must be in early-mid career phase. Any grandchildren?

Hopefully I can come to SD late 24 or early 25. I would love to see you again.
