David Gevisser never mentions this sum of money in his memoirs but he makes it very clear as anyone would expect that Nixon was very nervous when hearing that Engelhard had suddenly died.

The next major beneficiaries of going off the Gold Standard were all the other South Africans who kept quiet.

Look how quiet they all are and yet they can see clearly the gold-money-diamond trail that makes the least accomplished so much richer than everyone else.

It is a very small world, and not in the least bit difficult to figure out, at least the stupid human.

What I sent Feldman and now Smith which you should have got your copy, had to first go out, because people have to first of all stop fearing lawyers and the easiest way to do that is to show how stupidly violent they are.

I wrote both communiques very fast but I believe they both make perfect sense. if they dont let me know. Tomorrow I have nothing on my plate, apart from staying alive, that will interfere with getting the GIP done.

Last night Marie and I spent an hour on the first paragraph and neither of us are perfectly happy.
