The Tibetan monks got it right about not being self-indulgent.
You would think that since the “Deli” (sic) Lama is in the public arena, he would be more conscious of his own impact, and give up his chicken.

He is a Buddhist not a JAIN where absolute vegetarian is mandatory.

Gerald Katz that doesn’t explain his unconscious self indulgence. Also is not “absolute vegetarian”, a phrase you possibly just invented”, really being vegan?

Gerald Katz also, what made you think eating chicken was anything other than being carnivore?

Gerald Katz do you see it as ironic having a meat company call itself heartland or do you see no correlation between meat, animal flesh, and heart disease?

Gary Gevisser I have long seen correlation between eating meat and heart disease both our physical and spiritual hearts damaged by killing and eating dead animals.

Gerald Katz why did you point out that the chicken eating “Deli” [sic] Lama followed a stricter diet than being vegan, and yet he ate chicken?Could your conflict be that you are not vegan, and just talk?

Gerald Katz you sound severely conflicted. You “duck-ed” (sic) my earlier question:
“Gerald Katz why did you point out that the chicken eating “Deli” [sic] Lama followed a stricter diet than being vegan, and yet he ate chicken?

Also Gerald Katz, didn’t your sensitivity so quick to lecture me on the “Deli” (sic) Lama’s completely fake spirituality all catered to attract western man and his money, have you recognize that even cage free chickens are slaves just like bees AND the cows that give you cheese? So stupid.
Tell me what are your qualifications?

Gerald Katz you meant to write, “I’m not lecturing you…”, right? You should judge people who write nonsense such as yourself because you just want to hear yourself talk.
You were defending the “Deli” [sic] Lama when writing, “Jains are more devotion to not harming living beings goes far beyond not killing eating mammals, birds, and fish …”
You wanted me to believe that killing and eating chickens does not harm the chicken.
Have you ever had students or a female companion who thought you were out of your mind?
Let me quickly make a backup of this wall.
How would you best describe yourself?

Gerald Katz, would you be interested in my mother Zena’s first cousin, Cynthia Cindy Petit who I don’t believe my mother ever met?I believe the two of you speak the same language.

Gary Gevisser I don’t know what you are arguing about something so unimportant with such serious problems concerning dictators, tyrants, oligarchs, monopolies, destruction of environment and many cultures by truly evil men making billions from pollution, waste, violence, hatred, lies, and war.
My way of countering the looters polluters as well as allies, in politics, media, academics, and church’s is to advocate and advance ended reliance, dependence, funding petroleum, coal, natural gas, nuclear by demonstration and education regarding efficiency, renewable energy, storage, EVs.
Off grid 35 years solar and rammed earth available to all no costs, pollution, need to go to war for energy.

Gerald Katz you sound like many, if not most. With all that you have got going on, and so little time to spare, what were are you doing talking in circles about the “Deli” [sic] Lama and now feeling so embarrassed that you feel the need to change the subject.
Note the time is 4:11 PM Calif. time and I made a backup at 4:02 PM.
With regard to “… need to go to war for energy” my only response is that before you began your university studies or began to talk politics, economics, political science, politics, law, philosophy etc you needed to be expert in “military economics” which is also my area of expertise.
If you click on the link below
https://www.2facetruth.com/watch-v/
it will take you to Part V of “Watch the price of facebook’s shares”.
Most all of my now 2,284 fb friends including South African architect Micha-el Frame know exactly what is going on with the war in the Ukraine as well as all the waste, the result of the illusion created to give the people the belief that there is competition for minerals as well as the money which is controlled by the people who control the minerals who I began working for immediately following completion of my university economic-finance studies in early 1978.
For someone such as yourself who doesn’t think eating a chicken is harmful to the chicken it is probably going to take you longer than it would a healthy 12 year old.
All I can say is try to do your best.
I will now add you to “Watch the price of facebook’s shares” and if you are disruptive then I will remove you.

Jains are more devotion to not harming living beings goes far beyond not killing eating mammals, birds, and fish. Eggs aren’t eaten as might be alive, milk is OK only if the calves are feed first, no rennet used for cheese, not even yogurt may be consumed because living microbes in fermented food including beer and wine would be killed if eaten. Likewise water that might contain microbes must be filtered before drinking, honey not used because bees harmed by collecting. Root crops or whole living plants not eaten because uprooting kills plant and creatures living in soil. Mature Fruit, seeds, grains, panir cheese made with lemon, leaves carefully harvested without killing entire plant are how Jains eat with minimal harm to other life. Living simple lives with few possessions is exemplified by monks who don’t even possess a bowl or robe. When not on long fasts take only as much donated food they can hold in hand. Robes to much luxury covering only with unstitched blanket but no clothes preferred.
Jains far more ancient than Buddhism, predates Jewish, probably Hindu as well. Buddha studied with Jains as well as other religions of his time. Middle road is between Jainism asceticism and normal materialistic culture.

Should give up his attachments to living off the fat of the land, and his fear of the Chinese.
Grow a pair, expunge the nepotism in Tibetan organisations, the discrimination against woman in his branch of Buddhism, and come to the middle, with its excessive ceremony.
