Lonely Krau – Correction Request for Gevisser Email Blast
Timothy Krau has been silent for 16 days, having great difficulty responding to my logical request the day following his 143 odd word, “demand notice”.
Mike Flint has been writing a lot, but not helping out Mr. Krau who must be feeling lonely.

Hello,
My name is Tim Krau. I’m a writer who was raised in Nashville, TN and has spent the last couple years in Los Angeles. Recently, I was clearing out old emails, when I came across this email blast you sent to Mike Flint and many others.
While I generally enjoy the insights of ‘truth seekers’ and found some valuable information in your email, there was a mildly offensive inaccuracy in there. I know that you have no reason to consider what I have to say, but, as a person who is focused on uncovering various truths as well, I feel inclined to help you clarify the facts.
Over the past two years of being in California, one of the most rewarding experiences for me has been getting to know Mitchell Flint. He is one of the kindest, most humble human beings I’ve had the privilege of being around. He’s a genuinely sweet, 91 year old man, and it’s not hard to see the history in his eyes while he talks about his experiences. Which leads me to the inaccuracy…
In the email in question, you stated that Mitchell ‘washed out’ during training for Israel’s War of ’48. I’m not sure what information you’re basing this on, or what you stand to gain from making such a meaningless accusation which, from my perspective, has no potential benefit, but I assure you that the insinuation that Mitchell didn’t make it past training is entirely false.
I have seen the collection of photos and heard the first hand stories. I have met one of his fellow IAF members, Lee Silverman, whose shared memories with Mitchell forged a bond that has lasted all these years. I have spoken with younger, former IAF pilots and recipients of Israel’s Medal of Honor who are aware of his history and have the upmost respect for Mitchell.
If my personal accounts aren’t enough to convince you of the truth and to send out a correction in your next email, look into Israel for further information. Ask Reuma Weizman, who said Mitchell was the finest pilot next to her husband. Ask the IAF why, in 2013, they honored Mitchell with the rank of Rav Seren.

From what I gathered, your frustration was fueled by the notion that the South African contributions to Israeli’s war effort haven’t been given the recognition they deserve. I cannot speak for the other production, but I know that Mike Flint’s film includes interviews with several South Africans, including Sonny Ospovat, Morris Galp, and Rubin Nuransky.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email. As I know Mitchell Flint well, it is important to me that his reputation and his life achievements aren’t minimized. I ask you kindly to please include a correction in your next email blast.
Thank you again for your time.
Sincerely,
Tim Krau
