Let me correct your thinking on “Off B/S” sheet transactions.
If management inform the auditors that they have entered into “Off B/S” transactions such as if the female ceo develops a penis and the chemical reaction is patented and managements thinking is that it will help the company spread its risk to diversify into sex doll manufacturing as well, that would not be an ethical Off B/S transaction because it would be transparent bullshit.
On the other hand because “Off B/S” transaction allow management a little wiggle room to overcome covenants such as debt ceilings and debt/equity ratios, there is a tendency for management and the auditors to explain such procedures in the minutest detail with the purpose of putting the reader to sleep as well as providing the appearance of propriety.

My maternal great grandmother Nechie Bardash [1874-1943] was orphaned in a pogrom back in 1888 which took place in her tiny village of Plonsk White Russia-Poland where Ben Gurion had been born two years before.
