To mention little, of whatever little one believes of scripture which clearly hasn’t made the human an increasingly smarter, compassionate animal, quite the contrary in fact, as it is religious dogma which allows corrupt governments to control the hatred filled masses, who are led to believe that they are too disorganized, greedy, full of jealousy, pettiness, too weak to rule themselves with the fairness doctrine overriding their lust for individual power and personal fortune, it is wonderful story that talks to great brilliance beyond the human imagination.

Below is one man’s recent, 23 April 2023, writings:

The story of David, Bathsheba, and Uriah is recorded in [2 Samuel 11-12]. . David was the King of Israel, a man after God’s own heart, and one of Israel’s greatest monarchs. However, in this story, we see a darker side of David’s character. One day, while walking on the rooftop of his palace, he saw Bathsheba bathing and was overcome with lust. He sent for her, slept with her, and she became pregnant. Bathsheba was married to Uriah, one of David’s loyal soldiers, who was away fighting in the army. David tried to cover up his sin by bringing Uriah back from the war and encouraging him to go home and sleep with his wife, hoping that Uriah would think he was the father of the child. However, Uriah refused to enjoy pleasures while his comrades were at the frontline.

David’s next plan was to have Uriah killed in battle, which he did by sending a highly classified message to the army General, Joab. Uriah carried his own execution letter without knowing, and eventually Joab carried out the order. David then married Bathsheba and she gave birth to a son. One could argue, technically that David did not kill Uriah because he was not the ‘’unknown gun man’’ that pulled the trigger, he was however the mastermind and complicit in Uriah’s death. In my country  David would indeed be described as an  ‘’ungun known man’’; a phrase used to describe extrajudicial killings whenever the citizens suspect that the state is complicit.
