On 26th July [1948], 101 Squadron moved to Ma’abarot so that the Herzlia base could undergo renovations. At that stage, twelve S-199s were either active or in maintenance. 17th August was a great day when Ben-Gurion visited 101 Squadron. Following two accidents as a result of pilot error, Mike Flint left the Squadron and transferred to 35 Flight.
I have checked to see if there was a Mike Flint who was in Israel Air Force Fighter Squadron 101, and all I could find was Mitchell Flint. I therefore assume that either Mitchell Flint was called Mike or that Mr. Simon or his typist “make” [sic] a spelling error.
Last question, has Mike Flint or his father explained to you why Mike nor Steven and Nancy Spielberg have not contacted Jim Winters to share his father, Charles Winter’s story of being left to rot in a United States Military Prison for 18 months starting in June 1948 and his punishment for defying the US-De Beers arms boycott of Israel lasting through November 1949 without anyone putting their hand in their pocket to afford the most righteous American Gentile bail money or a lawyer to help defend him against the outrage?

I’m glad you have been in correspondence with Mike Flint, and I apologize for having taken this long to respond to your email. I have been on the road for the past couple of weeks and didn’t have the opportunity to get back to you until now.
Also, I apologize if I gave you the impression that I was making demands of you. I chose my words carefully and felt I was sending a kind request. I’m merely interested in the truth and, in this instance, defending the truths surrounding Mitchell Flint’s good name.
